Google’s Chrome for Android release notes recorded a windowed-mode issue in Chrome 39 in December 2014. That version-specific bug report is historical; it does not show that current Chrome has the same behavior. The old article’s suggestion to install a previous APK is removed because downgrading a browser can leave known security fixes missing.

What the archive establishes
The release note documents a fix in a particular Chrome Android update. It helps explain why users of that build might have encountered a display problem, but it is not a general guide to full-screen behavior on modern Android. Browser controls and system bars depend on app version, device settings and the page or media being viewed.

If a display issue happens now
Update Chrome through Google Play, restart the browser and check Android’s display-size and accessibility settings. Test more than one website to determine whether the issue is page-specific. For video, use the player’s own full-screen control. Do not install old APKs from mirrors or disable security protections to recreate a historical workaround.
This is a dated software-history note, not current troubleshooting advice. For a current bug, record the Android version, device model and Chrome version and consult official Chrome Help or release notes.
